Whether you are a small business owner who starts your first business, or a serial entrepreneur, you either know or will soon learn the importance and value of hiring a professional graphic design to work on all your branding and marketing projects.
Even if you don’t think of it as a necessary expense when the primary directive is to keep the company budget as low as possible in these crucial early stages of your business infancy. The fact is that customer convenience in today’s world is increasingly provided by corporate conglomerates. You need local brand recognition to be crisp and consistent, above all. In order to be relevant to prospective customers, you need to be involved in some kind of promotional marketing. This requires your company brand, logo and message to be extremely versatile.
Have you ever thought about the answers to such questions?
- Do you have an EPS for printing?
- How about a JPG and GIF for your website?
- What are your brands Pantone or hex colours?
- Is your logo scaleable 1 in. to 2o ft. high?
- Is your brand versatile enough to work on different backgrounds?
- Do you have a stacked logo or icon version?
- Logo available in one colour?
If the answer is no to these questions, believe me, they will be asked many times.
The real problem lies here. Nowadays, you can choose a very nice logo from an online logo generator, but you get what you pay for. Unknowingly, it costs you a great deal of time, money and resources while negatively affecting your company image. How is that? You may be asking.
I will use my experience as a graphic designer working in vehicle advertising. Despite how large or small the company is, most of the customers I deal with on the retail side do not have a centralized brand resource containing the art files required on request. To say wrap your fleet of vans, I need an EPS file of your logo to ensure that it is the right colour and quality, etc. If you do not have the required materials readily available to employees and suppliers to deliver to marketing and printing companies, then you have to pay to have your already established logo reproduced by who knows what quality of designer at an additional cost, while certainly altering your brand somehow.
